DENTAL IMPLANT
In cases where attempting to save the tooth is less predictable or hopeless, it may be best to forgo endodontic treatment and have the tooth extracted. In many cases, an implant may be your best option following extraction. An implant is an artificial root made from titanium, upon which a crown or other dental restoration can be attached. Modern implant dentistry is highly predictable and has become the ideal treatment in many cases.
Having completed a fellowship in implant dentistry has given Dr. Jönsson an expertise in implantology that is particularly unique for an Endodontist. Although he is not currently performing implant surgeries, his experience with implant treatment is helpful in helping patients navigate the pros and cons between saving teeth or extracting and replacing them with implants.
