Dental Implant

In cases where attempting to save the tooth is less predictable or hopeless, it may be best to forgo endodontic treatment and have the tooth extracted. In many cases, an implant may be your best option following extraction. An implant is an artificial root made from titanium, upon which a crown or other dental restoration can be attached. Modern implant dentistry is highly predictable and has become the ideal treatment in many cases.

Dr. Jönsson has a education and expertise in implantology that is unique, particularly for an Endodontist.  In addition to 27 months of Endodontic speciality training, he spent an additional 27 months in a formal Fellowship at Loma Linda University's Center for Implant Dentistry. There he was trained in all phases of advanced surgical and prosthetic implant dentistry, and was involved with implant research. His expertise with implantology is often helpful in helping patients weigh difficult choices between saving teeth or extracting and replacing them with implants.
